VMware Backup Appliance and vCenter/ESXi versions
Good morning. I am installing in one of our customers EMC Networker backup and restore solution version 9.1.
Specifically installing VMware Backup Appliance (0.5 TB OVA), because we have a DD2500 included in the solution.
Doing the review of the EMC Networker VMware Integration Guide, I can see that in the system requirements for vCenter server are Version 5.5 and later, and ESX/ESXi are server Version 5.5.x; Version 6 build 3247720 only (Update 1 Patch 22).
I suppose that this is the reason of why I having an error doing the vCenter Registration in the EBR configuration “Unable to connect to the provided SSO serverport combination. Please re-check values and try again”.
The customer has vCenter Server, vCenter Virtual Appliance and ESX/ESXi servers with version 5.0.0.
I will appreciate if somebody can please help me to confirm that it is not possible install VMware Backup Appliance if the VMware release versions are less than 5.5 as the Integration Guide says, or if there is an official compatibility matrix where I can re-check.
Thanks a lot.

Wait, VBA is not supported with NetWorker 9.1, its deprecated starting 9.1. vProxy is the solution used for backing up VMware infrastructure using NetWorker 9.1

If upgrading to NetWorker 9.1, you can continue to use the previous NetWorker
VMware Protection Solution with the VMware Backup appliance to run existing
VMware Backup appliance protection policies, however, you will not be able to create
any new policies using the VMware Backup Appliance, and you cannot recover
backups performed with the VMware Backup appliance by using the vProxy appliance.

Now I am clear about this. And there was also my mistake using guide for 9.0 instead of guide for 9.1. Thank you so much.

OK, in this case it is a new installation, is not an upgrading. Thank you
