VM-backup with vproxy to DD with multiple network segment

I have within a compagny one DD2200 attached for management over the management interface. I have for site-A one of the 10Gbps interfaces (4a) attached and routed to site-A and I have for site-B the second 10Gbps assigned and routed to the second interface (4b).

Within NetWorker I have just one pool to contain all backups, NDMP, Agents (ddboost) and VMWare (vProxy).

For each site I have defined a storagenode with 2 interfaces, one pointing in the LAN and one pointing to its backup-SAN (Either Site-A or Site-B).

If I create within NetWorker a datadomain device, I am able to let the storage-node communicate with their intended interfaces in the datadomain.

If I want to update/create the VMWare policy at this point, I am not able to assing one of the 3 possible interfaces of the datadomain. It is complaining about the host-name of the datadomain and you should use the single name of the datadomain. If I choose to use the management interface, with holds the hostname of the datadomain, or either NIC-name, I will not get an accepted connection.

After reverting all datadomain-volumes towards the management LAN, all works well, but all over the 1Gbps interface. The 10Gbps interfaces are ignored.

After changing the Networkinterface to 10Gbps path (by creating a devicename with the DD-10Gbps interface in its device path-name), the VMWare is failing again.

A) Is it possible at all? Or should I wait for vProxy 3.x (No ETA)?

B) During writing this epoch, I have a second solution (Create one DD-SAN, no Management, Add both 10Gbps NIC's in SAN, Rename/Disable Management, change IP-adresses to one SAN-segment for all DD-assigned channels) and will apply this one.

Hello @Gert_de_Vente, Assuming that by SAN you are referring to the 10Gbps interfaces, You must be using a separate hostname for the 2 IP's on the 10Gbps interfaces? If not, doing this will help you. You can create multiple devices based on the different hostname even though the DD is ultimately the same. If you don't have separate storage's for each of these locations I would recommend you use separate pools for the backups for each location.
