Unable to setup direct save with server nwserver: no matching devices for save of client `nwserver.vmware.lab'; check storage nodes, devices or pools

Hello,

i am trying to back up 2 clients using DDBoost, 1 over network and the other over FC, i am using Networker as my backup software and DD2500 as the target.

i have configured and enabled DDBoost on the data domain and created a FC device on networker, but when i run the backup job the following error pop up :

Unable to setup direct save with server nwserver: no matching devices for save of client `nwserver.vmware.lab'; check storage nodes, devices or pools

i have installed a storage node on the client on which i will be using FC connection, and it is configured on the device as well

i appreciate your help guys,

chris

These are the most obvious reasons:

  - You have mis-pooled

  - You forgot that the boostrap backup must be stored on a locally attached device

Chris,

Could you provide the details of the client and pool configuration for which you are getting the error ?

Sorry for the late reply

Thank you Bingo, Bootstrap must be stored on a locally attached device,

in the group configuration, i checked the No Index Box, it worked Fine, backup is done successfully but only The bootstrap fails now, how to save it on a local drive?

thank you

Chris,

By local drive what bingo  meant was any local attached device i.e. tape drive connected directly on the backup server or a local folder configured as an AFTD.

check if the related device is in unmount state, if it is make it mount.

Wow - a statement without any comment at all!

This is obviously the error message. It has been in use for years and it is very precise.

So please check the appropriate parameters. Otherwise - without any further details, this is just guessware.
