Removing tape drives from Networker?

I have an Adic i500 Jukebox divided into two libraries.  I currently have four drives allocated to 'Library_A' which is dedicated to our Networker server.   I need to move two of those tape drives to the other partition.   I have re-configured the library and the drives aren't in use by either storage node.   The drives aren't  connected to any media pools.   When I re-allocate the drives, Networker disables the Tape Library and I cannot re-enable the ADIC or re-configure it.    How do I remove these devices and keep Networker on line?

I've been going around in circles for days on this.  Multiple attempts, reboots, etc.
