recover of rsid failed
Dear NW experts!
Our customer want a directed recovery.
He using NW 9.2.1 and client 8.2.4.4.
We want to recover some sevesets from the original client to the
recover client. The recover client os is 8.2.4.4.
We got the following error:
recover of rsid 1346467676 failed: Unknown host
All of the name resolution is ok, we added a wildcard to the original host *@* and
none of them working.I do a -D9 debug, it shows some storage node access error, but when
we also specifiy it with a -J switch it is also not working.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hard to give you a straight answer:
- Did you add the destination client as a NW client as well?
- Did you run the recover command on the destination client?
- Is there any media alert pending?
- Is it possible (you did state OS versions but these are in fact NW versions ...) that you recover to a temp disk/dir on the NW server and transfer the files from here?

Hi!
>- Did you add the destination client as a NW client as well?
yes, it contains.
>- Did you run the recover command on the destination client?
We run run on the nw server.
>- Is there any media alert pending?
no

no.
We run the test on the server.
test1: recover from client1 to client1 - ok
test2: recover from client1 to client2 - failed with the following error
We did D9 debug, it shows cannot contact storage node. After we add -J option at also fails.
Please send me some suggestions.

Goodness - what to do with all these fragments? You obviously wanted to state a more detailed error message but it is still missing.
Obviously the destination client cannot contact the storage node but I am still guessing. Can you even run a short test backup from this client using this SN?
