NW and Windows Server 2022 - will it ever happen?

I remember the 'good old days' when the policy was to support a new OS release within 90 days after the OS has been released.

Now, with respect to the latest Compatibility Guides, there is no such entry - neither for NW 19.5 nor for NW 19.6 - not even as a client.

Could somebody please let us know if and hopefully when this will happen? - Thank you.

We also raised the same to our Dell contact, can't recall having heard back yet. Would've thought that would be a simple RFQ, similar as getting rhel8.3 an .4 qualified recently for running specific sap hana version?

You run NW server also mainly on windows?

In our case only looking for windows 2022 client support, as we run nw server only on linux.

Also making the transition to nw nve aplliances to completely get rid of regular sysadmin management for whom backupservers are more like cattle, just like any other server, whereas we'd liked them to be treated as pets.

Managing them ourselves as appliances makes it so. Making snapshots ourselves prior to updating/patching, giving us full control, we wouldn't wanna miss things like that any longer.

Networker 19.6 has qualified support for Windows 2022 as NWR Server/SN and FS Client.

For FS client as of now BBB support is only in non-UEFI mode  ( when secure mode disabled or not set). This will be fixed soon.

Thank you so much for sharing this info.

we will also again ask about backwards compatibility as it remains peculiar that nw19.5 is target release but it does not support the latest and greatest client version (yet?).

So will reach out once again asking about a RFQ for win 2022 for nw19.5 as well.

Dell can't expect customers to run bleeding edge, when even themselves they don't state nw19.6 as a target release...
