NMC crashes when I try to configure library
Hello,
I recently upgraded to Networker server 8.2 and just finished configuring all my clients unto this server. Noticed an error message for Potential drive ordering issue on my tape library (Oracle SL150) and decided to delete and then reconfigure the library. Deletion was successful, but I have not been able to re-configure the library. As soon as I select the library and choose configure library, NMC crashes with message
Lost connection to server, closing in 10 seconds
I have tried connecting to same Networker server via another NMC server, but same thing happens over and over.
What could possibly be wrong??

Okay,
So I had a chat with EMC support. Crash was caused by remnant device entries for already deleted libraries.
Trick was to cleanup all entries under devices as well. Then try to rediscover and configure the libraries again.
many thanks for all your help guys.

Work around try using the command "jbconfig" to configure the library.
As for troubleshooting the NMC crash, is the NMC and the NetWorker server on the same machine ? Also, when you say the NMC crashes does the GST server stop or is it only the GUI that crashes ?

I dont see any errors in the logs. Although cores are generated after each crash in the lgtonmc/cores directory

Thanks rov,
but in my setup I also need to zone some NDMP with drives on the library. How do you achieve this using jbconfig?
I also installed NMC on same Networker server, crash still happened. After crash NMC stops accepting login
