Networker NMC server & StorageNode

Hi Guys

 

I am new to EMC Networker ,

 

just to understand,  can we install NMC server & Storage node together in one server.. please advice

Each NW server must fulfill these fundamental functionalities:

  -  The NW client   (to maintain the fundamental NW network requirements and tobe able to provide the data to be backed up)

  -  The NW storage node   (to backup the data to a local attached backup device - essential for the backup of the important NW databases, aka 'bootstrap')

  -  The NW server himself    (to rule and control the whole environment)

Consequently, if you install the NW software for the server, you must also install the client and the storage node software packages as prerequisites. You will see that clearly if you install on Linux - on Windows the required packages are selected automatically in the background).

 

You can also install NMC on the NW server - especially for small environments and for eval purposes this is the usual practice.

@TectExpert, I would recommend you to look at the the NetWorker Performance Optimization planning guide to make sure you have enough resource added to the server running the storage node/NMC  server so that you avoid ending up having performance issues.
