Networker filesystem backup - Some path are excluded automatically

 Hello,

We are running linux system backup. Even though we have selected the option as 'ALL' in client property but it is backing up only the paths /var,/opt,/home,/,/boot,/tmp.

There are other paths like /ocus are too selected and everyday those paths gets updated frequently and we expect the networker incremental backup to back those files as well but unfortunately only the operating system paths of linux is selected for backup.

mminfo -avot -c clientxxxx shows that in last 90 days it has taken backup of only operating system files.

We are using the networker 19.6 and the version used by client side is 19.4. Not sure if this version mismatch can exclude the other paths.

Is there any other configuration that I need to be looking at ?

Is /ocus a separate filesystem and if so is it actually mentioned in /etc/fstab?

As NW will ONLY backup filesystems that are stated in fstab. However it will not backup any file shares either (like NFS) unless specified specifically by name in a separate non-ALL client definition.

see also: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/networker/nw_p_nwadmin/the-all-save-set?guid=guid-20826567-326a-40bc-9e21-54ad0d8b5029&lang=en-us

Also a special file that one can look into to see what would be excluded:

NOTE When you use the ALL save set for a backup, the NetWorker software creates a temporary file similar to a directive under each drive. The file name uses the format drive guid.txt and lists the files that are excluded from the backup. The file is temporary and is automatically deleted when the backup completes.
