Networker client configuration browse and retention policy.....

Hi All,

While we configure a client in Networker we provide a browse and retention policy to that client ,But while we create a group in networker we also provide browse and retention policy there too.

My question is if we give group browse and retention policy as Year and client browse and retention policy as month and put that client in that group and take backup so how many days the Image will be retrained??

Group Properties have priority over the Client Properties anytime. So here the Browse and retention policy for the backup will be an Year

It's not mandatory to mention in two places in fact, if you specify the Browse & Retention policy in Client Properties and do not mention the same in group properties then Client properties will be considered for the same, if you specify the same settings in both Group and Client Properties, then Group always have more priority over the client properties.

The option is provided to have more granular control in the scheduled backup which are grouped together to comply the customer need.

Hope this helps
