Yes - you have 2 options

1. Define a monthly schedule (see below). Unfortunately, you must do that with each Action.

2. Upgrade to NW 19.1.1, define an appropriate Schedule (under Properties) and select it with the Action.

The screenshot below shows the key steps, of course for a NW 19.1.1 server:

Hi Bingo, as always thanks for your quick response.

The option 1 works for me but I its better the  option 2 . I am going to research if there will be associated costs  for the upgrade.

Well the reason  I need to do this is because i have to troubleshooting scenarios:

  • the monthly  backups to tape (no offsite) are the last day of the month and the monthly  clone to offsite tape needs to start  at the first day of thenext month. But the tape backups takes to long an sometimes and they are note ready when offsite action is scheduled.
  • When last day and first day of the month is a weekend  the monthly tape backup collides with the weekly tape backups.

there is  some way to avoid this crash actions  in networker 9.1 (like only start action 2 when action 1 is ready)

Thanks in advance and my rusty english.

Honestly, I recommend backup to disk. It has a lot of advantages and do not forget that a bunch of functions only work with B2D.

If you have the backups on disk, just use (scripted) cloning to find the relevant save sets to clone and initiate the clone. Depending on your SLAs you usually have much more time for cloning, you are not under pressure and you have a better flexibility. And you can still run new backups at the same time.

Of course it needs some extra money, but believe me - it pays for itself after a while.
