Name resolution is essential for NW. If this does not work, NW will fail.
- Check the name resolution. If it fails, you may resolve via entries in the hosts table. Of course this must be done for all 'participants': clients, storage nodes, server(s) and remote backup devices.
- Install the NW client and make sure, that it will accept request from the right/both servers. Usually, it will find the servers only in the same subnet. For this purpose you need to adjust the file /nsr/res/servers: add all allowed NW servers and restart the client service (nsrexecd) to re-read the file.
- Test the NW connection by connecting to the clients via the nsrexecd program. Use this command: nsradmin -p nsrexec -s receiver . receiver is the NW host you want to reach. You do not need to proceed here but if you see the command prompt you know that the NW connection is working. So press q to quit. Repeat the procedure between all NW 'participants' - in all directions.
- Now you should be able to create the client.
- Run a manual backup first using the save command.
- Finally, configure your system for running automatic backups.
An whenever you will come back, please state your system environment.

In the last screenshot you are dealing with the save set recovery (right tab).
Have a look at the save set status. Here you see that only the last one is "browsable' - the other ones are 'recoverable'. While a browsable save set still has file index information, a recoverable save set does not have this any longer. Consequently you will only see files if you select a browsable save set ... but only if you want a file level recovery (Browse tab).
If you do a Save Set Recovery (right hand tab) you usually want to recover the whole save set. Therefore there is no need to browse. Also be aware that some save sets are already assigned the status 'recoverable' at the time they will be created. Consequently, NW will not show you a file index here.
However, the last section of this window (Recover List), you may enter the correct and absolute pathname if you want to recover only a certain file/directory. But do not forget: In this case 'your memory takes over and presents the indexes for your files'. So it has to match.
