Hello, NetWorker does not support Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for Active Directory/LDAP Users.

As of NetWorker version 19.8.0.1 Build.52, native support for 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is not available for admin accounts, especially if you're using Active Directory (AD) or LDAP-based authentication

Limitations in Version 19.8.0.1

  • No built-in 2FA for AD/LDAP users.
  • Local NetWorker accounts also lack 2FA support in this version.
  • MFA support was introduced in NetWorker 19.12 and later, specifically for local accounts using Google Authenticator.

    Upgrade required.
  • Upgrade to NetWorker 19.12 or newer to enable MFA for local users.
  • For AD/LDAP users, Dell has filed an enhancement request (RFE NW-I-1764), but it's not yet implemented.
  • Consider using external authentication gateways or VPN-based access controls to add a layer of security around NMC access.
