Disable storage node jukebox changer device on Linux
Dear Experts!
Our customer is using Networker 9.2 and we have one jukebox, which is used multiple storage nodes.
(node1, node2 and we have one backup server server1) Node1 and node2 are RH Linux hosts.
During the backup process, we got reservation error messages in the jukebox log.
The Networker closes the lto cartridges very early. (500 Gb written / capacity: 3 Tb)
The LAN backup mode is not an issue, we have to use 2 storage nodes. We think it causes that the scsi resets are coming from the other linux server.
Question:
How can we disable jukebox on RH Linux os side (i mean the changer device)?
On the storage nodes inquire shows the tape drives and the changer are also configured.

I do not really understand your configuration. But here are some general rules:
- The jukebox should only be controlled by a single node (preferred is the NW server himself)
Consequently, it should not even be visible on the storage nodes.
- Are the devices shared among storage nodes?

I would just block the access to the Changer on the SAN's zone configuration.

Tha jukebox is controlled by Networker server.
1. The Networker server can see: jukebox, drives
2. The Linux storage node can see: jukebox, drives
We cannot do anything with the zoning because the drives are zoned with storage nodes.

You can create a new zone with only drives. Why would you want the same Jukebox zoned to multiple hosts, this does not serve any purpose.
