change hostname of networker/migrate to new server
It it possible to change the hostname of networker in version 19.2? All the info/procedures I can find online seem to be for older versions.
I want to migrate to a new server and upgrade my the OS (RHEL) but the hostname needs to be different. Can this be done?
Additionally is it possible to use a floating name/IP (like an second dns A record)?
I'm thinking something like:
Suppose I have server called hostnameA.
I create an extra DNS A record called nw and assign the corresponding IP to server hostnameA.
Within networker everything references the name nw .
When it comes time to migrate I create a second server called hostnameB.
When ready for the cutover, I remove the extra IP from server hostnameA and put it on hostnameB.
My nw dns record now points to the new server and networker doesn't notice any difference.
Is this possible?

It should be possible, but not without the help of Dell/EMC support.
Besides a lot of re-configuration issue, I see the major problem in swapping the appropriate entries in the media index. And this is not something a customer can do by himself. But the vendor show know how to deal with that issue.
The other alternative would be to rescan all the media but I am sure that this not what you want.
