Authentication error: why = GSS-API context problem …

Hi,

I have Networker server V 8.9.1.1 - build 360  on a Windows 2008-R2 server called S-OLAF-CBLGT:

I get the following message (even after starting my whole server) and when entering into the Networker console:

Unable to connect to server: Unable to authenticate with server s-olaf-cblgt.cbis.olaf: Authentication error:; why = GSS-API context problem …

How can this be fixed ?

My whole Networker environment feels unstable ..... After startup of the server i manually have to re-add my lybrary to be seen ...

Does this ring a bell ?

Regards,

Johan

Hello @JohanRM,

Looks like you are running out of disk space in the File System where you have the /nsr/index folder located.

Can you please check?

Thank you,

Carlos

What was you NetWorker version again ?

This is only an issue for accessing the NetWorker server via the NMC ? or does your Juke box goes missing from the ocnfiguration ?

Is your NMC server and NetWorker server on the same host ?

My nsrd program is exiting all the time. Could this be related to the fact that i got always the message: The NSR index is out of space ? How can i fix this without having the nsrd process running ?

The version is V 8.1.1.9- build 360 on Windows 2008-R2.

Regards,

Johan

Hi,

The message GSS-API disappeared now. But when i try to launch Networker administration, i get: unable to connect to server; program not registered?

Best regards,

My Networker environment seems stable again after freeing up  space. I lost some groups and clients. I could get the groups back by recreating them. I have to recreate 2 clients that i lost: 1 windows client and 1 NDMP client. When i launch the wizard to create i get: Unable to connect to server, unable to authenticate with clientname; why = Server rejected credential.... I already removed them using nsradmin -p nserexec ..... but that does not help ?

Any idea ?

Rgds,

Johan

If your disk space troubles are resolved and you are back to GSS issue, it may indicate issue with nsrauth and keys in nsrladb on server and/or client side.  daemon log should show more details.
