U4025QW, no sound when MacBook Pro connected via Thunderbolt
As the title says, no matter what I try, I cannot get the monitor to play any sound when connected to either of my MacBook Pros (one M1 Max, one M3 Pro) via Thunderbolt. I've even purchased the Thunderbolt 4 cable from Apple as suggested in another similar post but that does not work. The monitor has been updated to the latest firmware and is barely a month old. I've also tried all the Thunderbolt ports on both MacBooks with the same result. Both MacBook Pros are also running the latest operating system.
When selecting the monitor as the output source, the spinning rainbow wheel appears for about 30 seconds before the system becomes responsive again. I have not yet tried if sound works via the DisplayPort or HDMI inputs but will post the results when I can. I can confirm that the passthrough audio via the line out to a set of powered Kanto YU-4 speakers also does not work when the systems are connected via Thunderbolt.
If anyone else has experienced similar behavior, I'd appreciate any suggestions at this point to help with my troubleshooting.

As a last resort, I restarted my MacBook and now the sound works - both directly from the monitor and using the audio line out. I'm not sure why a restart remedied the issue but seems for now that the problem is resolved.

Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them. Once verified, they will troubleshoot with you.
Starting with the basics =
* Open the Menu--> Others
* Run Factory Reset
* Go back to Audio
- Set Speaker to On
- Set Volume to 75
* Exit the Menu and retest

Confirmed that the same behavior occurs when connecting either MacBook via Thunderbolt to HDMI/DisplayPort. Although the spinning rainbow wheel cycles on and off. Same behavior is also observed going HDMI to HDMI.

@DELL-Chris M I've tried all the steps noted above minus setting the volume to 75 (it was at 50). Not sure if adjusting the volume up triggers something but I can try it again.

Both MacBook Pros are also running the latest operating system.
* Specifically, what version?
* Is there a Windows PC there with USB-C port to test?

Both are running Sequoia 15.5. I do not have a PC.
