U4025QW, DDPM 1.3.2.0015, laggy, spinning, non-responsive

I've recently upgraded my monitor from a Dell U4021QW to the new U4025QW. I have kept the same HDMI connectivity to the host machine, an M2-based Mac Studio running MacOS Sequioa 15.3.

Upon swapping the monitors I have noticed that DDPM, once opened from the menu bar, is now horrendously laggy, showing the spinning 'beachball' almost continuously. System inputs are noticeably slower and more laggy while DDPM is running in this state. MacOS Activity Manager shows DDPM as periodically non-responsive too.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling DDPM, however the same issue persists. I have also noticed when installing DDPM that the U4025QW remains undetected during the installation steps.

Previously all was working fine. The monitor is running M3T102 version firmware and I noticed that there is  firmware update available to M3T103. I may see if I can find another machine to install that with, or perhaps via a Thunderbolt connection.

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues and symptoms?

Circling back. This seems to have been resolved with the new DDPM 2.0.0.0015 version that was released a few weeks after I created this thread.

Also managed to upgrade the monitor firmware from M3T102 to M3T103 and now all working fine.

Dell Support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private U4025QW Service Tag with them.

State to them that you have an issue with DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager) not working with macOS 15 Sequoia.

I have not had any luck installing the monitor firmware via a Thunderbolt 3 connection.  From what I have read, you have to unplug everything from the computer except for a USB-C connection between the monitor and the computer.  I haven't had time to do that yet but I'll get to it in a day or two.  Just thought I would throw this out here in case it might alleviate some grief for someone.

@thefallguy I had tried the new DDPM on my U4025QW and it was so buggy that I reverted back to the old software.

How did you get the M3T103 software to install?  My monitor is stuck in this mode where it comes up and tells me the firmware is not completely installed.  I have a Lenovo laptop that has the Thunderbolt 3 connection connected to the Thunderbolt 4 connection using the provided Thunderbolt 4 cable.  I unplugged everything on the laptop except for the power cord.  So all I had connected was the Thunderbolt cable and the power cord when I tried to update the firmware.  What am I doing wrong?  I'd like to get this all working.  I paid a lot of money for this monitor and it's not able to live up to its potential.  Thanks!

@Dell_Community_Steve

I've actually got 2 of these monitors - I upgraded mine using a Thunderbolt / USBC connection using an M4 MacBook Pro directly connected to the monitor using the DDPM v2 software. It did take a while to fully update and reboot itself. Not the 20 minutes it says it could take, but at least 10-15 minutes.

The second identical monitor just wouldn’t update itself from DDPM using the identical laptop and connection - so I installed using the standalone firmware update tool / package from Dell. This also has the benefit of a progress bar, so at least you know it’s actually doing something.

Weird that one monitor update worked using DDPM v2 and the second just didn’t want to play ball. They are identical, bought at the same time and were both running the same firmware version. So who know what tricks the pixies inside were playing at 😂

Note I could *not* get the firmware update installed using an HDMI connection to the monitor from an M2 Mac Studio.

I had to use a USBC / Thunderbolt connection. I decided to use my son’s MBP laptop for this just to alleviate any issues that may have been precluding the Mac Studio from doing the update.
