U4025QW, cannot update to firmware M3T105 via 2024 MacBook Pro M4?

I cannot update my U4025QW to M3T105 (released 10/17/25) via MacOS. I get the error message "The selected firmware is not for this monitor." The "Model No" and "Current Firmware" fields in the Dell Monitor Firmware Update Utility" show "Not detected".

I can confirm that the Mac OS update fixed the issue for me.

UPDATE: I was able to update the firmware using my old 2017 MBP (Intel) which was running macOS Ventura 13.7.8 but not with my 2024 MBP (M4) which is running macOS Tahoe 26.0.1.

Hi everyone,

Dell has published an official article about this issue.

  • Cause: A change in Apple’s libusb API in macOS Tahoe (26.0.1) broke compatibility with Dell’s firmware update tool, leading to the error “The selected firmware is not for this monitor.”

  • Resolution: Apple has acknowledged the problem and will fix it in an upcoming macOS release. Until then, you can update your monitor firmware using:
    • A Windows PC, or
    • A Mac running a version before Tahoe or any post-Tahoe beta.

You can read the full details in Dell’s official article: Dell Monitor Firmware Issue With macOS Tahoe

All macOS user should update to the macOS Tahoe 26.2 December 12, 2025 release. Once updated, restart the Apple computer. Then retest installing the monitor macOS firmware.
