U2725QE, after disconnecting MacBook Pro lagging
I experience the issue described below
Reddit post (year 2024)
Hi everyone! I'm experiencing some issues with my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) when I disconnect it from my Dell ultrawide monitor. I usually connect via Thunderbolt 4 and use it in clamshell mode. While connected, everything runs smoothly—my Mac is responsive and the monitor seems very smooth as well. However, as soon as I unplug the Mac to use it independently, it becomes very laggy. Swiping through the apps in the launchpad for example is not smooth at all, occasionally screen flashes and sometimes even a mouse pointer appears duplicated, where one is stuck and the other moves normally. Restarting the MacBook resolves these issues, returning everything to normal speed and smoothness.
I'm curious if anyone else has faced similar problems and found a solution. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! I'm also looking for a bit of reassurance that I'm not the only one dealing with this. Thanks in advance for your help!
Crutch solution (by Tombiczek OP):
I have found a solution, so in case anyone finds this post having the same issue. This is all the fault of Dell Display and Peripheral Manager for macOS (DDPM). After uninstalling this software everything works great. No issues at all.
My device:
Macbook Pro M1 13-inch, 2020. MacOS Tahoe 26.4.1
My Dell App:
DDPM v 2.2.0.0024
My monitor:
Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Thunderbolt Hub Monitor U2725QE
I connect via: USB-C
