U2724DE, U2724D, MST usage from WD19 dock?

U2724DE - Does MST work if I have a desktop connected via DP and a Laptop connected via USBC Altmode from a WD19 dock?

Currently I have two U2515 monitors working with MST, my Laptop is connected via DP (from a WD19 dock) and my Desktop via mDP to the master U2515, then daisy-chained via DP. When I switch between the two inputs the MST means both monitors are switched.

So, can I do this with one U2724DE as the master display and one U2724D as the slave, if I connect the laptop via WD19 Dock (DP 1.4) output to TB upstream and the Desktop via DP?

If this does work, which output do I use for the daisy-chain, the DP one or the Thunderbolt one?

I meant to say, using the USB-C DP1.4 output on the WD19 dock to TB upstream on U2714DE.

The proposed setup below is not documented. The U2724DE User's Guide does not mention dock usage as the "source device". It only shows computers as the "source device". Dock users will need to post their findings =

WD19 dock #4 USB-C/DP 1.4 port --> U2724DE Thunderbolt 4 cable --> U2724DE #7 Thunderbolt 4 upstream port
U2724DE #5 DisplayPort out port --> U2724DE DP to DP cable --> U2724D #4 DisplayPort in port

U2724DE User's Guide pages 43/44 shows the documented MST setups.

DP to second monitor DP =

DP to second monitor Thunderbolt =

Thunderbolt to second monitor Thunderbolt =

Thunderbolt to second monitor DP =

Thanks for the response.

Does that mean if I just go from Laptop TB port to monitor directly it will work? And if so, which output would I use for the daisy-chain?

@ely_uw I am confused. Can you not see the ports used in the pictures above?

@DELL-ChrisM2
Of course, but I don't understand what the difference is between daisy-chaining with a DP cable vs a TB cable.

Thunderbolt to DP MST daisychain is the same functionality as DP to DP MST daisychain. The only dfference is the source device port.

Thunderbolt to second monitor DP =

Laptop TB port --> U2724DE Thunderbolt 4 cable --> U2724DE #7 90W Thunderbolt 4 upstream port
U2724DE #5 DisplayPort out port --> U2724DE DP to DP cable --> U2724D #4 DisplayPort in port

Thanks, so I'm clear (forgetting the Dock option which is unknown). I need to do the following;

Laptop TB > U2724DE TB Upstream

Desktop DP Out > U2724DE DP In

And for MST/Daisychain. I can either go;

U2724DE DP Out > U2724D DP In

or

U2724DE TB Downstream > U2724D TB Upstream

Correct?

The second part is incorrect = U2724D TB Upstream port

That U2724D TB Upstream port is data only, no video, page 14 =

Okay thanks for the clarification. So DP > DP only for the Daisychain if going U2724DE to U2724D.

But if I got two U2724DEs I could go TB > TB.

Thanks for your help.
