U2414H, wake problem, full reset of system required
Currently running a self built rig with the following information:
Processor - i7
Video Card - Sapphire R9 290X
Monitor 1 - Dell U2414H purchased January 2016 from New Egg
Rev A03
Using the following to connect - DP out to DP in (also Tried DP out to mDP in) same thing happened
- also have a USB cord connector plugged into tower to connect USB ports i monitor
Monitor 2 - Dell SP2208WFP connected by HDMI
Video Card Drivers updated to latest Radeon Crimson ReLive 17.3.1
Resolution - 1920x1080
High Performance Power Plan
This problem has been happening for a few weeks, and it came out of nowhere. Essentially, I put my computer to sleep every night and it self-wakes in the morning. I move my mouse or hit a key and the monitor usually comes back to life and I go on with my business.
Recently, the monitor will not wake from sleep. I have tried cutting all power, doing a hard 30 second reset, restoring to factory settings, and even changed connections from mDP to DP.
Nothing has worked. I have to fully restart my system for the monitor to wake from sleep. I have found that cutting power from the U2414H also enters sleep mode and will not wake - regardless if the power is cut from the power button or by taking the power cord out. Same thing, the entire computer will have to be reset.
This is incredibly frustrating. I can't just restart my system all the time just to wake the monitor. Its just over a year old! My other dell has been amazing! What gives with this otherwise beautiful monitor?
