U2413, Confused about sRGB/aRGB modes and ICC profiles

Hello,

I have a question about the calibrated modes (sRGB/aRGB) of U2413.
- I assume there are no ICC profiles delivered with the driver for these because they are LUT-based calibrations?
- Still, when the driver is installed it installs the native ICC profile. Does this profile still apply in the LUT calibrated modes? I guess it shouldn't as it's for the native mode only, but is it? Or shall I remove it?

Thanks.

The sRGB and AdobeRGB modes use a hardware LUT calibration in the monitor. If you are using these modes you should at least set the standard sRGB or AdobeRGB ICC profiles in your operating system to correctly define the color space you are working in.

You could actually make additional software LUT calibrations stored in a custom ICC profile, and these would act on top of the hardware LUT calibration in the monitor.

The native ICC profile "DELL U2413 Color Profile,D6500" defines the full color space of the monitor, which is actually a little larger than AdobeRGB in some colors. Do not use it if you set the monitor to the sRGB or AdobeRGB modes. I believe the native ICC profile corresponds to the color space used in the monitor's "Standard" preset, but there is no LUT stored in the ICC profile to calibrate the colors accurately.
