Two U2723QE, WD19DCS dock, two PC, USB-C daisy chain or not?

I have two computers. One for work and one personal computer. I currently have these connected to two Dell U2415 monitors, which have plenty of DP/mDP/HDMI inputs to connect both computers and an NVR with separate cables to each monitor and one HDMI to the NVR.

I just purchased two Dell U2723QE monitors and it appears Dell has reduced the number of DP/HDMI inputs on this monitor (just one DP and HDMI on each monitor) but it does have DP out and USB-C ports. So it looks like I'll be forced to daisy chain at least one of my computers using the USB-C.

Home computer is a self built AMD setup. Graphics card has one DP and one HDMI output.

Work computer is a Dell Precision 7680 laptop connected to a Dell WD19DCS docking station via Thunderbolt cable.

NVR has one HDMI port.

Docking station has:

2x 1.4 DP ports

1x HDMI 2.0b port

1x USB-C multifunction displayport

So here's my question:

Can I connect the laptop/docking station to the two monitors using a DP port to one monitor and the USB-C port to the other monitor? Or do I have to daisy chain the two monitors using USB-C?

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

I would first see if your desktop can drive both monitors using DP cables only.
ie daisy chain

your card would need to support 1.4 I think.

if yes, next I would probably remove your dock and see if things work without it. Ie connected laptop via usbC to first monitor.

Connect KM to first monitor.
you would need a long usb A to C cable to connect desktop to monitor for the KM to work, if things go well.

Actually I've decided to just purchase a KVM switch and just connect the computers and NVR to the KVM with DP/HDMI cables, then DP/HDMI cables from KVM out to both monitors. This will be a better solution overall solving the shortage of inputs on the monitors and I'll only need one keyboard and mouse for all devices. And I can switch between devices with the push of a button instead of toggling monitor inputs every time I need to switch computers.

not sure what the NVR is.

Some Dell monitors have KVM built in. As yours has 2 usbC ports, I would think It has that functionality.

It results less wires and boxes

Your model also has the dock built in.

The Dell functions aren't aways perfect, but usually worth trying first.

NVR = Network Video Recorder (security cameras)
