S3425DW, RTX 3060 r2 HDMI, stretching HDMI

My wife gifted me the S3425DW curved monitor with usb-c support. I'm trying to connect both my desktop and work laptop to the monitor. The work laptop works fine on the usb-c port, but connecting my desktop to the hdmi lands me with a stretched image. I'm worried I'm not going to be able to support the 21:9 aspect ratio. Desktop is a custom build with an RTX 3060 r2. So a couple of questions:

1. Is my GPU just going to be unable to handle the 21:9 resolution?
2. Is it impossible to get the higher resolution via hdmi? The monitor only has one upstream usb-c, and I don't think my GPU has a usb-c output. It has hdmi and display ports. I've got a usb-c on the motherboard but I don't know if that's connected to GPU
3. Do I have options for getting this setup to work (with the full resolution. I wouldn't want to end up with black bars on the edges of the screen)? Maybe with a KVM or something?

I was able to find a solution! Setting the resolution to  using Nvidia's control panel to 3440x1440 corrected the issue. I don't know why setting it using the monitor menu didn't work.

The online S3425DW User's Guide states that both of the HDMI 2.1 ports support =

Try backing the resolution down to 3440 x 1440. Does it look better? No black bars?

Unfortunately, no. At 3440 x 1440, I get black bars on the top and bottom, and the image still appears stretched horizontally.
3840 x 2160 fills the screen nicely. It's just stretched horizontally.

The system does say that 3440 x 1440 is the recommended resolution, but then I have about 2 inch black bars on the left and right and 2.5 inch black bars top and bottom. it doesn't fill the screen

At 3440 x 1440, open Menu - Display. Go to Aspect Ratio. Is it set to 21:9?

Yes it is. 21:9. Interestingly when I set it to 3440 x 1440 today I don't have the left and right black bars. Just top and bottom.
