S3422DWH, DDM not working, functions gone inactive, KVM tab disapeared

Hi,

I just got my S3422DWH monitor, and quality wise it is great. However, I encountered an issue with Dell Display Manager 2.

I have one desktop and one laptop, both connected to the monitor. I installed Dell Display Manager 2 for its KVM function. It works perfectly on my desktop, but when I open DDM on my laptop, the tab for KVM is missing, and all functions except "Easy Arrange" are greyed out. When I hover over the greyed-out tabs, it says, "Please check the online user guide to find out how to enable the inactive functions."

I searched the Dell support page and went through the entire DDM manual but couldn’t find any instructions regarding this issue.

I tried restarting DDM on my laptop, but the issue persisted. I also restarted my laptop, but the problem remained.

It works fine on my desktop, and DDM is the same version on both devices, so I believe the program is not unsupported. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Hin

First,

Do you mean the new February 20, 2025 DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager) as shown on the S3422DWG Drivers & Downloads page?

-or-

The old DDM (Dell Display Manager) as shown in the FAQ Windows OS DDM and DDPM?

Hi Chris,

I’m using the old DDM. My previous monitor was also a Dell, and I had been using the old DDM with it. I intend to continue using it because my laptop is a company device, and we have a strict policy on installing new applications.

Is it possible to fix the issue without requiring me to get the new DDPM?

Thanks,

Hin

You have not stated the specific version installed, but in the, "FAQ Windows OS DDM and DDPM", all of the DDM 2.x versions list the S3422DWG under, "Compatible systems".

The version is 2.3.2.18 on both devices. I have no doubt it is compatible, as it is working fine on one of them
