S3221QS, DDPM 2.1.0.20, wakes up dim
I had the latest version, V2.1.0.20 installed.
Since it was installed, coming out of the monitor showing the Screen Saver or going to Sleep, it 'woke' up dim? Either case, Screen Saver showing or the black screen as it was sleeping.
To recover, I put the PC to Sleep again, and then woke it up (normally with the mouse jiggle). Came back at proper brightness.
My Video Driver was NOT changed, and the video card is an Nvidia RTX-2060 and I'm on W11 Home 24H2.
I have now uninstalled DDPM
As far as I can tell, this resulted after installing the latest release of DDPM. Of course with it off the PC, if I should happened to have the DIM happen again, I will post here and explore other possibilities.

OK, I am confident the problem is with DDPM.
Since removing it I've NOT had the 'dim' experience again. Always awakes to full brightness.
On top of that, I did have some sound issues... volume changed from boot to boot. Even after it changed and I adjusted it, next boot it was loud again. Sometimes on only on program, not the system. Once DDPM removed, that too has stopped.
None of these 2 problems existed before upgrading the existing DDPM to the latest version.

Stay with DDPM 2.0.3.9 for now.

Is this something that support is/will investigate, or a known problem?
The only way I can tied both the sound and dimming together is I use the Speakers on the monitor and it is connected via HDMI. Sound uses that too of course.
Actually, I don't really need DDMP as I normally wouldn't be using its features.
If support is looking into this, I'll consider putting a new release on though. If I should need it though, I'll put the older version on, thanks.

You can see on this Monitors board that there are other issues with DDPM 2.1.0.20. But those were on newer U4924DW and U4025QW. Yours is the first report about dimming. If the S3221QS had 4 or 5 year warranty, yes, Dell support would work it. If out of warranty, no. We would just notify the DDPM team of your issue.
As with any Dell software, if you do not use it, uninstall it.
I have two of the old U3415W. But I never had need of DDM (Dell Display Manager) so never installed it.
On my 2016 Area-51 R2, I never had need of SA (SupportAssist), Dell Update app, Dell Foundaton Services, Dell Security Advisory, etc. So I uninstalled all of them.

Generally speaking, I'll leave stuff on as long as it doesn't 'bother me' or cause a problem. On the other hand, while under Warranty, I will always leave it as shipped.
Support Assist is the one that seems to cause, me at least, the most problems, but I leave it to run once a month...
