S2725QC, dead pixels, any recourse?

I have dead pixels on my new, 2 month old Dell 27" S2725QC monitor.

I've:

  • Reset my computer
  • Ran a self diagnostic on the monitor
  • Plugged it into another computer

The computer in question is a Macbook Pro M1, if it matters. I purchased the monitor (two actually, the other one is fine) at Best Buy on June 3rd 2025. I did not purchase any "additional" warranty, making the apparently poor assumption I would have manufacturers warranty. Here are the order of events:

  1. Called Dell. They informed me that there was no warranty purchased for the service tag associated with this monitor. Call Best Buy.
  2. Called Best Buy. They asked if I purchased their warranty, which I did not. They informed me that that the monitor should be covered by Dell. Call them.
  3. Called Dell again. Again informed me that I have no warranty, but if I could provide the "Dell order number", they could look into it. And also said "Best Buy didn't buy any warranty on this".
  4. Later, a Dell agent called me back, asking for me to email copies of my receipt. I did. 24 hours later, they emailed against stating that there are no warranty entitlements for this monitor.
  5. Went to Best Buy store. Spoke to someone. They again confirmed that they can do nothing, and typically the manufacturer would offer a standard warranty period for faulty hardware
  6. Called Dell again (while in store). Agent informed me that not only is there no warranty attached to this monitor, but they do not offer manufacturer's warranty for products not purchased directly from Dell, or authorized resellers.

At this point, I have a what I would consider to be a decent monitor except for the giant row of dead pixels running across the screen, that is not quite two months old, with seemingly no avenue to get this monitor replaced.

Does anyone have an suggestions on avenues, or even troubleshooting, I may have missed? Am I completely out of $300+ dollars? Thanks!

The ownership has to transferred by you from Best Buy to yourself using the online Ownership Transfer form.

Unplug the video cable from the computer and then run the S2725QC Self-test (page 58). Do you see the line of dead pixels? Post a picture of this.

When running the S2725QC Built-in diagnostics, post pictures of the colored screens showing the line of dead pixels.
