S2721QS, repeatedly scanning for signal

I just got this monitor a couple days ago. After setting it up and things looking great, it started intermittently going blank except for the message "Dell s2721qs scanning for signal." It lasts probably 5 to 10 seconds, during which time my other monitor(s) act like I've just going into Display Settings and either clicked "Extend desktop to this display" or "Disconnect this display." The screens zoom out just a little bit for a moment, then go back to normal, and the Dell monitor starts working again. That will last anywhere from a few minutes to maybe a half hour or more, then it does it again. It's been happening every since I added the monitor.

I've tried a high-end HDMI cable I already had, as well as the HDMI cable that came with the monitor, and have tried both of the HDMI ports on the monitor.

I had my main monitor plugged into the HP Spectre laptop's HDMI port and the Dell plugged into a powered docking station, so switched (plugging the main monitor into the docking station) and then it started blanking out.

So I guess I'm now posting this in case anyone has this issue while using a docking station, as that's apparently the problem in my case.

Only thing so far is to have the monitor set at 30Hz refresh. The weird thing is I have two monitors of the same model (S2721QS) and one is at 60Hz and the other has to be 30Hz. The 60Hz is DP and the 30Hz is HDMI.
