P3223QE, MacBook, Ethernet fails on wake up

I noticed another problem: because of the abovementioned issue, I have been screen-locking my laptop (Macbook) to force the monitor to enter standby mode when I leave it (I am already quite ok with this solution, despite I would prefer to effectively turn off the monitor). However, for the second time now, when I come back and wake everything up, the ethernet won't work. The first time this happened I did a couple of things, like restarting my computer, turning off and on the monitor, etc. Eventually the ethernet "woke up" and resumed its normal operation.
