P2424HEB, firmware M2T103 broke headphone jack
TLDR of the issue: Firmware M2T103 broke the headphone jack on my Dell P2424HEB.
Long explanation:
I noticed Dell released firmware update M2T103 for the Dell P2424HEB monitor a week ago. I decided to give it a try. The update appeared to go smoothly as I did not receive any errors. I made sure to carefully follow the instructions for flashing the firmware of the monitor. Shortly after completing the update, I decided to connect my headphones directly to the monitor. I was surprised when no audio would come out. Things I tried:
- Tested different headphones
- Reset the monitor settings from the monitor settings
- Powered off and on the monitor again
- Restarted PC
- Changed audio outputs in Windows settings
I tried more things but trust me, it was bricked. I was afraid my monitor was permanently damaged. Fortunately Dell still allows you to download the previous firmware M2T102 so I I rolled back. Instantly my headphones started working again. As I previously mentioned, I was very careful when flashing firmware M2T103 but just to rule out user error, I updated to M2T103 again. Again, my headphones stopped working all together.
Specs:
Dell P2424HEB single monitor (no other monitor connected to PC or daisy chained to monitor)
Intel NUC w/ Intel Xe built in graphics connected via USB-C/Thunderbolt
Windows 11 23H2
I hope Dell engineering team sees this and can address the bug. Until then, I am sticking with firmware M2T102.

Just updated Dell Display Manager to 2.3.2.18 and now the headphone jack is working. Using M2T103 firmware.

@Denniswolt
What PC model, video card, video card ports tested, and operating system?
Did you also have the headphone jack issue on firmware M2T103 and went back to firmware M2T102?
What headset are you testing?

@NVIDIA_Manuel,
* P2424HEB single monitor (no other monitor connected to PC or daisy chained to monitor)
* Intel NUC w/ Intel Xe built in graphics connected via USB-C/Thunderbolt
* Windows 11 23H2
Does the Intel NUC have any other video out ports to test on the P2424HEB? If yes, did you test those before going back to firmware M2T102?
Did you replicate the issue using a different PC?

Hello Chris,
What PC model, video card, video card ports tested, and operating system?
HP ZBook Power, Windows 11. But I have the same with my custom desktop on Windows 10.
Did you also have the headphone jack issue on firmware M2T103 and went back to firmware M2T102?
I only have the issue with M2T103. It was working fine with M2T102 on both systems. I dit not revert to M2T102.
What headset are you testing?
Tried different ones. I have a Creative speaker set and a Sennheiser headset.
I think M2T103 has broken the headphone output.

@NVIDIA_Manuel,
Can you also install DDM 2.3.2.18 and retest?
