Display Manager setup and Hotkey operation

Dell Display Manager 2.3.2.20 set up on both computers.  U4919DW monitor set to correct settings for Operating as single monitor (DDC/CI = ON), the U2723QE operates from 7780 and is not being directly controlled.

Display Manager set up to run with USB KVM. Shortcuts set up on both computers in the Display Manager.

However, when using the short cut to change input it cycles through four different sources, namely USB-C, DP, HDMI1 and HDMI2.  Of course two of these are not connected as they are not required. An initial set up was done using Network KVM but was found to occupy a lot of bandwidth

A complete uninstall and reinstall of Display Manager has been done as the initial install had some errors, due to not fully understanding the set up requirements.

The same problem remains, even though completely new names and hot keys have been allocated to the new set up.  These are mirrored on both computer setups in Display Manager.

Quite some time spent looking for an answer.  The one possible that looked good was tried but with not change.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

For the sake of clarity: -

when using the set hotkey to change between machines...the following appears on screen, in sequence

1. Computer 1 - USB-C

2. No DP Cable - never selected - why does this appear?

3. Computer 2 - HDMI1 USB1

4 No HDMI2 Cable - never selected - why does this appear?

Otherwise this is an excellent system where there is a requirement to use the large screen, specific Single keyboard and Single mouse on both computers
