Dell UD22 with Macbook Pro M1 and two displays (hdmi and displayport)

Last week I bought the UD22 docking station to connect my Macbook Pro M1 to two external displays using DisplayLink.

Now I am experiencing tremendous discomfort when using two screens. As soon as I unplug the USB-C cable to my Macbook Pro M1, and then plug it back in a day later, I only see 1 display and the second display stays on black. Then I don't see any displays in DisplayLink manager either. The only way to get it working is to take the DisplayPort cable out and then put it back in.

This is only very frustrating when I have to do this every day at my workstation. I actually think it is a shame that I bought a docking station that does not take care of connecting me to multiple screens. Is this only the case with this Dell docking station? Or is it generally a problem with DisplayLink? Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
