DDPM 2.2 on macOS - icon in dock which cannot be removed
After recent update to 2.2.0.0024 I now have and icon in my dock for DDPM which was not there with previous version 2.1.2.0007?
Is this desired or unintended issue?
Would this be fixed in coming versions?

It has to have been a design change that the macOS DDPM 2.2.0.0024 A17 icon will show in the dock and as a running app. The only workaround I know of is to uninstall 2.2.0.0024 A17 and install previous version 2.1.2.0007 A16.

Confirmed by the macOS DDPM team. This is an expected result of the new design. A design change was implemented that forces the macOS DDPM 2.2.0.0024 A17 and later versions icon to show in the Dock and as a running app.

Our Apple users cannot assist properly until you provide more data =
* What specific Apple computer model?
* What Apple OS version?
* What Dell monitor model?
You should also ask the users on the Apple Forum to see if they have the same issue. Tell them what Dell monitor you are using on specific Apple computer.
You may also go back to the previous version.

Hi, no issue providing the information, but I doubt ti would make any difference on different monitor model or different apple computer model.
I have the same issue on both of my configurations. As said with old DDPM 2.1.2.0007 it was not there, confirmed.
* Macbook Air M2
* macOS 15.7.4
* Dell U3224KBA
* Mac Mini M4

Based on your testing, this is by design.
I am not an Apple user. But a quick internet search states that you should be able to remove the icon from the Apple Dock by right-click (or Control-click/two-finger tap) the app, select Options, and click Remove from Dock. Alternatively, click and drag the icon away from the Dock onto the desktop until you see the word "Remove," then release. Did you try this?

Yes, I tried, but it is not possible.
As I wrote, issue comes with 2.2 update.

I guess by design then. The only workaround is to back to the previous version.

This is correct and known. Returning to 2.1.2 solves the issue.
But my point was about fixing it in new release(s), not to be stuck with old version.
In parallel also to confirm this issue is valid for other users.
And although thoroughly searching I have not found any option to report this to the DDPM team on Dell support site :-(

@ZV the same problem
Since updating DDPM for macOS, the program always appears in the Dock. I have version 2.2.2.0024 installed. If I enable “Hide,” nothing happens. I had no issues with the previous version, 2.1.2.0007.

I'm having the same issue. It's rather frustrating and feels like an unnecessary change. Now I just leave the app closed, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but changes the role the app plays in my work environment.

Been away from home for a while, but updated and also get the issue. DDPM also shows up as a running app when you are control-tabbing between apps. It never used to appear here at all.
