AC551m failures
Hello everyone. I've had 2 AC511m soundbar failures in the past 3 years, first one purchased off Amazon 7/2022, failed last year 7/2024. Purchased a second one off ebay and it failed a few weeks back. It was latched onto a Dell U2715H monitor and hooked into it's USB hub. Monitor hooked into a UD22 dock and everything on a surge protector.
Both failures were all of a sudden Windows throwing a "The last USB device you connected to this computer has malfunctioned and windows doesn't recognize it". Both times pulled the soundbar off and tested directly connecting to several laptops (Windows and Mac) and confirming they were toast. What gives? I saw a few posts here and there about this particular soundbar going kaput but nothing rampant. Has anyone else experienced this and just didn't care? I like the soundbar itself alot (clean design, good sound, and out of the way mounting underneath the monitor), but I can't stomach buying another one if this is a known thing with these.
Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this lol.

@OOhobbes Hi,
From what I'm seeing about this product on Amazon and other online retailers is that the sound is fine, but the quality isn't that good since some are complaining about the same failure issue you're having.
If you could try looking for a lower tier one possibly like the AC511 (Sound quality is probably worse), then it's a cheaper alternative to the one you've had to replace twice.
Otherwise, I'd just recommend a wireless Bluetooth speaker or a dedicated speaker setup for your monitor.
Have a good one,

You could give the AE515 ago, in the hope you won't have the same problem.
The sound is better quality than your previous one

@A51-06 Thank much for the input. I looked into the AC511 and it apparently doesn't fit my monitor (U2715H). My main aim was to find something that clips to the bottom of the monitor to keep as many things off my desk as possible but I may have to go for a bluetooth like you mentioned.

@Andy K Thanks much, this was an alternative I was looking at. I'll give it a shot as I'm done with the AC511m lol.
