2405FPW - no PC Display
I have a Dell 2405 FPW monitor. It only switches between video-input options 3, 4, & 5 i.e. thru' S-Video, Composite Video, and Component Video. It doesn't switch between options 1 & 2 i.e. between 15-pin VGA & Digital DVI Video. LED for option 2 (DVI) is always illuminated. For options 3, 4, & 5, it switches when I press the switch button. Please tell me how to get it to work with PC-Video especially VGA. When I turn it on, I see a Dell | Genesis message all right. But then no info from PC - not even BIOS info is coming. So it's not a device driver issue, it's a 2405FPW hardware issue. Regards, Jaspal

* Power off the monitor
* Disconnect the power cord from the monitor
* While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
* Reconnect the power cord to the monitor
* Power on the monitor if it does not power on by itself
Any difference?

Hi dyultimate,
My problem wasn't resolved as per the directions given either.
I believe a kid at home might have accidently messed up the options from the menu to switch to PIP or something like that. (I know the problem was on those lines)
Anyhow, on a display (3, 4, or 5) where I could see something, I turned on the menu (I might have been required to keep the button pressed for a while for the menu to appear) and then worked on the settings to get back to normal display.
Try that - the settings must have been modified to some non-standard settings e.g. PIP or so.
Good Luck,
Jaspal

Hello,
I have the same issue on the same model with no PC display. The difference is I can only select input 1,2,3. Input 3 stay lite when I toggle input source. Input 1-3 or 2-3 is lite. No video input. VGA and DVI source is good because it work on another monitor.
I've tried you instruction:
* Power off the monitor
* Disconnect the power cord from the monitor
* While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
* Reconnect the power cord to the monitor
* Power on the monitor if it does not power on by itself
still no resolution.
Please help.

I can't see anything on 1,2, or 3. I can't get to 4 or 5. There's two input that are lite up (1-3, or 2-3). I can't get any menu to come up. It looks like the input are locked up.
