xps 8300 stuck on splash screen after installing new gpu

I have a Xps 8300 with i7 2600 8 gig ram 750 watt psu and when I try to install my card which is gigabyte g1 gaming n98tg1 gaming 6gd I get stuck on the splash screen I tried switching to uefi but when I restart the computer I get a black screen with a flashing curser also when I go to the bios after doing that I still don’t have options for Secure boot or uefi setting  and I tried updating the bios I’m on a06 and still no luck. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Thanks advance
