Wi-Fi Networks not visible on Latitudes & Optiplex

Just installed a new wi-fi router (Orbi Pro from Netgear), and have started changing over computers and phones to the new network. The computers (for example E7440 and Optiplex 9030) shows the old network and surrounding ones but not the new one. However once a USB wi-fi adapter was installed the wi-fi started showing up, and I know some of the computers have the same network card. So what I wanna know is why is this? Is the network card not recognizing certain channels, is this a bug with the card, etc, etc.
