VNXe SMB3 CA and Hyper-V
So we currently have a VNXe 3150 setup as shared storage presenting iSCSI LUNs to 2x Server 2012 Datacenter nodes for Hyper-V HA Failover. Its underwhelming.
We want to reconfigure this gear for SMB3 and CA but ive ran into a snag.
Will we need more boxen to connect to VNXe as Scale Out File Servers to present the SMB Shares to the Hyper-V Cluster or can this be done with 1x VNXe 3150 and 2x Hyper-V Nodes?
Ive read (and been told via EMC support) that SMB doensnt work very well and to use iSCSI but this was the primary use pattern we told our salesperson of when we were learning about EMC and its supposed to be supported.
Ive read the introduction to SMB whitepaper and looked over many blogs, posts and sites as i can find. I just want to be sure before i nuke arrays and migrate data.
Thanks!
