Private cloud and System Center 2012

anyone interest in System Center2012?

I am look for a lab enviroment to build one private cloud using Hyper-v host with AD, Exchange, Lync, Sharepoint,System Center2012, also with EMC storage of course. anyone interest or have lab resourse, please contact me via OC.

PS: Why EMC doesnt have its own private cloud for us to use, such as apply Virtual machines, product license, so that people in EMC can easily use self-service portal to request and build..i dont think we are lack of storage to store the VHD!

Well, if Hyper-V works on Hypervisor. You can just go to any VMware lab and ask admin to assign you resource to start. I guess it’s harder to find servers allowing you to install from the scratch.

I heard HyperV only can be built from bare mental. Could new version running on any hypervisor?

maybe hyper-v 3.0 can do that.....i dont know why built hyper-v on other hypervisor, doesnt make sense to me though.

You seem to be awaiting an answer from someone for something, but it's not clear what you are expecting to hear back.  Asking for equipment resources is unlikely to be viable.  That would assume that people have systems sitting in labs, consuming power and requiring cooling, that aren't doing anything .... just waiting for you to ask for them.  Do you really think that's likely to be the case?  Also, who do you think is paying for all the licensing for this sort of environment?

Do not misunderstand my response .. this does not mean that groups are not working on these products.  They are.  But these resources are generally for test, validation, etc.  What you are asking for is more "production", and that's not going to happen.

Incidentally, EMC does have a private (demo) cloud initiative.  You should investigate what the Solutions Centers are offering.

As for some of the other comments with respect to Hyper-V ...

  • Hyper-V is NOT a bare-metal only install, although there is a Hyper-V Server option available which does do a bare-metal install.  In general Hyper-V is installed as a feature of Windows Server 2008 and later. So Windows Server 2008 and later is installed first, and then the Hyper-V environment is enabled.
  • Since Hyper-V includes the Hypervisor, which is installed when the feature is installed, I'm not sure I understand what the point about using it on another Hypervisor would assume to do.  This would not be valid. Why would anyone want to run a hypervisor inside an existing hypervisor??

what i am going to do is some solution design and validation and test, too. and the license? of course we use trial version. nobody pay for any license.

maybe i am not clear, i am not asking a actual lab, just looking for people who interest in those and maybe have 1 or 2 server near them and willing to share. that's all.

PS: i am a MCITP on virtualization and VCP, and i was a IT enterprise admin in my former company. welcome to dicuss any topic.
