Laptop will not charge or detect adapter.
Hello I honestly don't know what to do .
Im using a Dell Inspiron 3583 Laptop , at first my old adapter wouldn't charge my laptop well so I would usually keep the adapter in a specific orientation so it would charge.
I know I should have bought a new adapter, but my mind wasn't really there as I was sorting other issues.
Then I bought a new adapter 3 days ago and it was chargibg well , better than the old charger, though it had to be on a flat surface to actually charge , if I tried putting the laptop on my bed , it would say plugged in but npt charging.
Now yesterday while I was on my bed , due to my own laziness , I tried plugging it it but it said the same thing , the I tried fiddling with the orientation to see if it would charge.
All of a sudden the led beside tbe adapter porr would shine 3 amber lights then 1 white, so I immediately got scared and turned off the laptop.
Unbeknownst to me that madr it worse as the laptop woudnt turn on at all and wouldn't charge even if left completely off.
I read that this is due to either fault with the battery or CMOS Battery, so I opened the laptop , disconnected both and reconnected both.
I then left the laptop off during the night , and now the laptop turns on , but is not detecting the charger at all whether the laptop is on or off , it doesn't give a white light when I plug the adapter in the laptop and sonce the battery is almost out of charge now from me turnjng it on today , its only showing the amber light to show that the battery is low in power.
But won't show the white light if I plug in the charger , and I doubt maybe the adapter is bad from what I did as its brand new , thpugh I wouldn't beable to test it if it is as I don't have another charger anyway.
So what possibly can I do?
