Application data protection vs Storage replication
Hi All
Microsoft provide embedded features to protect data and provide a DR site, it could DAG with Exch, AlwaysOn with MS SQL (two sync , two async) or Hyper-V 2012 replica (async).
Do we have some existing customer who decided to not use this features and use a storage replication instead ?
One of my custmer use a mixed configuration an Exchange using DAG and recoverpoint to copy data on a third site.
what is your opinion ?
best regards

They are really good questions. As more and more new features released by MS, we are more interested at new technology. In fact, EMC solution has lots of integration with MS technology like https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-18942. Many stuffs are in community we can search out. But for real customers experience, we need listen to customers by heart. We initiate a questionaire in form of twitte-style in China. We can share the feedback later.

Hi Louis
Thanks for sharing the questionnaire feedback, it could be very interesting.
The SQL AlwaysOn FCI and recoverpoint is really interesting and to be honest I use it often.
it could be great to compare the intersitelink bandwith need to use alwaysOn and the one need to use recoverpoint replication, as RP could optimize the network transfert it could be a good discussion to have.
Does someone have this kind of comparaison ?
