SCCM 2012 R2 - Dell Server Deployment Pack - ERROR Creating first Task Sequence

After integrating Dell Server Deployment Pack with SCCM 2012 R2, I can not seem to create a Dell bare metal server task sequence:

Everytime that we try to create a bare metal task sequence, we can not complete the wizard:

"error: failed to import XML into the task Sequence"

"CreateTaskSequenceTemplate: Unable to create an instance of SMS_TaskSequence"

"CreateTaskSequence Template:  Could not create task sequence package!"

are the errors that are displayed after clicking CREATE

I hope you are using dsdp 2.1 + dsdp 2.1.0.2 ( service pack for sccm 2012 r2 ). If not then please use this service pack.

Are you able to create task sequence without using dell plugin.

Do you always select same inputs while creating task sequence or have you tried other options.

Thanks for responding.  I can create non-dell task sequences without any issues.  I can also create MDT integrated task sequences without any problems.

I have rebooted the infrastructure and have tried various options in the Dell wizard but all result with the same problem.

All servers = Windows 2008 R2

This is a Single SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Site with 4 component servers (s 2 site servers, 2 SQL servers in a cluster)

Server 1

SCCM 2012 R2 Site Server - (MP, Primary Site, SMSProvider, DP, SUP)

Server 2

SCCM 2012 R2 Site Server - (MP, SMS Provider, DP, SUP)

Server 3/4 = SQL

SQL 2008 2 node Cluster

What is your sccm 2012  r2 configuration type. Single machine setup or split setup. Also provide full details of your site server.

Please attach SMSProv.log. Make sure you capture failure in it. You can paste the part when you start and when you finish by clicking "create".

DSDP does not work with multiple SMS provider for single primary site. Please remove it from either of Server 1 and Server 2 and it should work.

Thank you for this information.   Do you have any document that shows how you can not use multiple SMSProviders?

How can you then use the Dell tools in a highly redundant environment?  After all, the multiple SMSproviders is a key enhancement in SCCM 2012 R2. http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.com/2012/11/how-to-install-multiple-sms-provider-in.html

Are these Dell tools only meant for small mom and pop shops?

I have also REMOVED my second SMS Provider Role.  Now, I only have one (on the primary site server); however, the error still remains.

I was able to solve the problem by uninstalling the Dell Tools... and then re-installing them after removing the redundant SMSProvider role.

So, I think you are right, the Dell plugin's do not support multiple SMSProviders.  This is strange as a larger enterprise will most likely choose to have multiuple SMSProviders.
