support assist driver OK?
My Norton & CCleaner say driver updates critical and required. Support Assist working/running fine but no drivers showing up. Is this normal? It has updated some drivers recently.

@RobinLindleyUK ,
Welcome to the Dell Forums. I would rely on the Dell Support website. Insert your Service Tag, and search for drivers manually, scroll down to "Find Drivers." I do not use SupportAssist or Dell Update; they were both removed from my Dell computers when their respective warranties expired.
SupportAssist is problem-plagued program, and it has been so for years. Just head over the SupportAssist Forum. It would not surprise me SupportAssist missed available updates, but your wise course is to download them yourself from the Dell Support website, and only the ones you want.
Without knowing exactly what the other two programs had identified as "critical updates," I advise serious caution. The programs could download a driver that is incompatible with your Dell build
Have a great day.
Regards,
Phil

@garioch7 Thank you for your assistance. I am not computer literate to any great extent and relied on Support Assist. I have been to the Dell site and there are available downloads but they are marked 'caution' 'urgent' etc and I am wary of downloading them as I don't know if they will balls up my currently perfect system. I do however want to keep up to date.

@RobinLindleyUK ,
If you have entered your Service Tag, the Dell Support website should only be showing possible downloads compatible with your specific computer.
I would advise you to download any "Critical" updates, such as BIOS updates, which are best done by the F12 Flash BIOS method. Examine the others closely. Many patch security vulnerabilities, fix bugs, or provide enhanced features. You can find a summary of what is contained in an update right on the website on via the Info or Download buttons.
Have a great day.
Regards,
Phil
