Is it possible to change my optiplex 5050 SFF I5 to an I7
And additional info I needed to know is can I put a different card in apart from the intel intergrated graphics I was thinking about putting a GTX 950 inside of it considering it’s an older card. I was also thinking of if upgrading my I5 to a 6th gen I7. I got the machine for 50 bucks thought I would ask before I do anything

Yes, for compatibility, you can upgrade the CPU to an i7 of the same generation.
As for the GTX 950, it's a no go. You can not use it for your OptiPlex 5050 SFF. Due to power requirements and chassis fitments, if you want to add a discrete graphics card, look for a low profile card, single slot with power usage around 50w or less.

Hi Dominick,
Congratulations on scoring the Optiplex 5050 SFF for just $50! Yes, upgrading to a 6th gen i7 is possible, but ensure compatibility with the motherboard. The Optiplex 5050 SFF supports processor upgrades, but double-check the chipset. Regarding graphics, the GTX 950 should work, but confirm the power supply's capacity and physical space. You might need a low-profile version. Check the BIOS for any restrictions too. Upgrading can boost performance, but do your research and enjoy the process! Happy modding!
Best,
John

Regarding the graphics card, the GTX 950 might be a bit challenging due to the power and space constraints of the SFF (Small Form Factor) case. Here are some considerations:
Power Supply: The OptiPlex 5050 SFF typically comes with a 180W power supply, which might not be sufficient for the GTX 950. You would need to check the power requirements and possibly upgrade the power supply.
Physical Space: The SFF case has limited space, so you would need a low-profile version of the GTX 950. Ensure it fits within the case dimensions.
Alternative Graphics Cards: Consider using a low-power, low-profile graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 or AMD Radeon RX 6400, which are more likely to fit and work well within the power constraints
