Yes I wrote it correctly "I8kfanGUI". I have an Inspiron 1501 Turion64 X2 TL-56 1.8GHz, 2GB, 120GB and if you want my service tag I can give it to you. I`m telling you that the software does not work with my laptop.

that's because it was designed for inspiron 8000 models Id assume.  I used that thingy way back

I don't see an Inspiron 1501 in the compatibility list right there on the main page for the utility, although some recent systems are listed there.

google i8kfan and you will be able to download it from that site,it is a dell utility site
