Touchpad Problems Alps vs. Synaptics

Can anyone at Dell please tell us what laptops can still be purchased with a synaptics touchpad? My Inspiron E1505, Inspiron 1520 and Inspiron 1521 all have Synaptics touchpads. My brand new Inspiron 1525 has an Alps touchpad. It is terrible to say the least. I am so frustrated that I am actually considering sending this laptop back. It is unresponsive, very inaccurate and rough to the touch. I have played around with the sensitivity, speed and all other settings to no avail. The settings cannot make a grossly inferior touchpad superior! I want to replace this laptop, but I DO NOT want an Alps touchpad. Before I order a new machine I want to know who made the touchpad. HELP!
