replacing video card

is it possible to replace a video card on the latitude 1520? just curious

If you buy the model with integrated video, no.

If you buy the model with a dedicated video card, you have two choices - the nV 8400 or 8600. If you choose the former, it can be replaced with the latter.

There are no other options, and whether there will be depends on what Dell releases - there likely won't be any future upgrades.

oh, cool. is it hard though? cause i looked at the manual at it seemed rather complicated...the 8600 gt is the highest avalible card out for laptops right?

It depends on the system model - for that model, yes.

The only system that's upgradeable is the one that comes with the 8400GT card. The model with integrated video has no card socket, and because the 8600GT is the top card, if you buy that way, there's likewise no upgrade option.

but once a newer card comes out, i have the option of upgrading right?
