Lattitude E6230 legacy OS install
I decided to install winXP on a new drive . All went well until " a problem has been detected and windows shut down"
win 7 runs perfectly on the old drive.
I have all the drivers for XP.
Anybody got any ideas on this ???

You'd need to build a custom XP install disc with the chipset and SATA drivers slipstreamed into it to get this to work.
If you must run XP, run it in virtual mode under Windows 7 (and keep it OFFLINE for your security and that of others, since XP has not seen any security updates since it went end of life almost four years ago).
