Inspiron 3147 wake up from sleep problem
Hey guys, i have a problem with my laptop.
Last few days, when i am trying to wake my laptop from sleep, nothing is working. Keyboard, touchpad and not even the power button helps to wake up. I have to hold the power button and turn it off, then, when laptop is starting again a message pops out, that i have to restart computer and after restart it works.
It is really annoying since i can´t leave for long, because then i need to restart again.
Anyone who can help me ?

I'm assuming you have windows 10....
If yes....
To access the full library of on-the-box Windows 10 troubleshooting wizards, follow these steps:

I have the same problem, which seemed to occur following a Dell bios update. The troubleshooting guide tells me that all is well, but attempting to put the computer to sleep shuts it down entirely.

You can use the System Restore tool which will restores your computer back to an earlier point in time.
a) Press the windows key + R key at same time.
b) Type rstrui.exe in run window and hit Enter.
c) Click System Restore
d) Click Next, you'll see the restore points

I had W 8.1. After the problems started, i tried W10 to see if it will solve it, but it didn´t help.
When i try to restore my PC, it says i can restore it only from the date of 20/03. I assume that it´s because of the W10 update. Am i screwed then ?

Same problem here after the recent BIOS update. I am running Windows 8.1.

Same problem here also, as of Nov 2016.
BIOS A10.
Windows 10 w/anniversary update
Dell 3147 laptop.
Goes to sleep when lid closes.... but when opening lid... it boots up from cold start.
I only use this laptop to randomly check on things throughout the day. I can't have it take 3 minutes
to start-up.... to check something I need for 30 secs.
As a result, it is now totally pointless to have this $400 device. It just wastes more time than it saves
me.

Hi Susan
When you 'Power On' system, it takes 3 minutes to boot into windows ? Or when you open the lid from sleep, it takes 3 minutes to boot up ?

I have the exact same problem. Upgraded Bios to A10 on my Inspiron 11 3147 and now whenever I close the lid the computer does not wake up. I can hear the disk and I can hear the fan but nothing comes on the screen and I am forced to hard reboot the computer. With each hard reboot at restart the windows file system check occurs in the background and takes longer for the computer to be ready for use. This is an issue with the bios version and needs to be fixed by Dell
